Uplift in technology capability to support rapid growth rate

The context

Blue Seed Consulting lead the change management stream of an enterprise-wide ERP-enabled transformation.

This dairy organisation is one of ANZ’s success stories rapidly growing from its humble beginnings in New Zealand to a multi-billion-dollar global dairy giant.

Our approach

To solve some of the growing pains arising from their swift expansion, the organisation invested in an Oracle ERP solution, to be initially implemented for their Supply Chain and Finance processes. This modern and cloud-based ERP platform provides the business with solid foundations on which to build the next stage of its strategic plan.

For the business, Oracle ERP provided greater data security, improved traceability for financial decisions and reporting, faster consolidation of financials and reporting and consistent processes across the regions.

This program is arguably the biggest change initiative in their history and impacted around 60% of staff either at a high or very high level.

Key to Blue Seed’s strategy was ensuring that the narrative around the change was well connected to the business strategy. The future users of the system understood the need for the change as Blue Seed directly tied the transformation benefits to their pain points.

The outcome

Over the course of 11 months, 18 ERP modules were implemented for all Finance and Supply Chain users. This meant that over 100 individuals from all 4 regions needed an extensive training and support model.

The ERP project successfully went live in April 2021. Blue Seed’s training and support initiatives meant that users were well supported after go-live to work through any teething issues.

This project marked a significant milestone in Blue Seed’s history of ERP implementations as our first remotely delivered ERP implementation.
